Developer :: New York office

I come from a place far, far away. A place where the average temperature is a mere 9ÂșC and where we refer to ‘having dinner’ as ‘having tea’. In every way other than the accent, I’m a Yorkshireman In New York, all the way from England.
I’m incredibly excited to be part of the wonderful world of awesome things. I enjoy a whole heap of dev-based magic, but especially love working with iOS and the front-end. I also studied Multimedia Design at University and rather like the amalgamation of both creative and development.
Additionally, I love inventing cool projects over a coffee or beer, and have a passion for making them come to life. One of which is now known as The Brilliant Design Lecture.

3-UP at Internet Week Europe

Previously on the TBG blog, we introduced 3-UP.
You may also know that a few of weeks ago, London played host to Europe’s first Internet Week.
What better time to play 3-UP, right?
We thought so too! Myself and fellow 3-UP Barbarian, Dom jumped on a plane and headed to the homeland.
Here’s our highlights from the trip:

Online

A first blog post could be a hello, a welcome or a statement of intent.
This is non of the above, but instead a thought.
I’m not keen on the word online, nor its counterpart, but I am interested in how and why people define something as either online or offline.
Perhaps something online is something that is connected to something else. Perhaps it is something integrated; a demonstration of intelligence or service of information. Perhaps online is simply something that is … expected?
In the wonderful and oddly-named world of ‘The Internet of Things’, online is everything and it’s all simply becoming more alive.
Maybe we should just abandon the differentiation, definition and separation between online/offline. Personally, I love things that are cool, and cool things that have a purpose become awesome.
Maybe this is online? It certainly looks alive, and it certainly looks cool.
