Martín is a Chilean-born designer, artist and pseudo-programmer currently living in Brooklyn while attending the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University. He has been based in Santiago, Amsterdam and New York, working on his personal art projects and as a designer for multiple clients.
After graduating from the Design School at Universidad Católica de Chile he spent two years at the architecture firm ELEMENTAL, developing both the firm’s and the lead architect Alejandro Aravena’s identities. He then moved to Amsterdam and collaborated with several design studios, to later come back to Santiago to take charge of the user interaction design and develop web strategies for Plataforma Networks, the company behind ArchDaily.com and several other online communities. After that he joined the international studio Base Design, becoming the Senior Designer in the just opened Santiago office. In the meantime he became a Fulbright and a Chilean State scholar to make New York his town.
He has brought to life interactive installations, identities, books, packaging and websites, always choosing to use the fewest resources possible to achieve simple yet powerful results. In his free time, he is also an intensive bike rider, plastic animals collector and coffee enthusiast.
