Tommy Kane

Creative Director :: New York office

Tommy Kane has created print ads and television commercials for major corporations over the past 25 years. Sony, IBM, Samsung, BASF and Barnes & Noble to name a few. Steve Madden came to Kane 12 years ago as a three million dollar shoe company. Tommy created one of the most memorable advertising campaigns of the last decade. Steve Madden said it was a major reason his company grew to 100 million in sales. A few years later, Kane did a campaign for Yellow Tail wines. It was the most successful launch of a wine brand in US history. Early in his career, he art directed many rock videos for MTV. Lenny Kravitz, Robert Palmer and Buster Poindexter among them. He is also a mildly accomplished illustrator and a bit of a nudnick.

How To Draw A Saloon

A few months ago, McGarry Bowen executive creative director Danny Gregory, decided he wanted to make a series of films about illustrated journaling. Not a how-to, step-by-step sort of thing but films that capture the adventure of drawing, the discovery, the spirit, the fun. He hopes they will inspire others to make drawings (and films, if they want) and to keep an illustrated journal as a regular part of their everyday lives. This one is of Barbarian Group creative director, Tommy Kane.
