Google Brain Drain: Twitter Poaches Prominent Lawyer (GOOG)
Google Brain Drain: Twitter Poaches Prominent Lawyer :p. So this is weird. Why does Twitter need an in-house counsel? Is this something valley startups “just do?” I mean, we have like 70 people, about the same as Twitter, and a fairly constant need for legal services, but I am nowhere near thinking about getting an in-house legal counsel. I like using a law firm, and you get experts in every subject as you need them.
I suppose part of it is that in the “advertising” world, the CFO does a lot of the contract negotiations with clients, so there’s not a constant stream of legal needs from your moneymakers. but still, how many deals does Twitter make in a month?
