It takes the mystery out of the Foursquare mayorship secret sauce in order to show you exactly how many more check-ins you need to be the mayor of your favorite venue. Check it out!
Development notes: Friend of Barbarian Emma Welles lead the design. The app itself is built in PHP on top of Vicious, a framework developed by our very own CTO Chandler McWilliams. Vicious is “a PHP clone(ish) of Sinatra”.

I love this site but I have a problem, or atleast I think I do!
Every time I go to check a venue out it requires me to OAuth with bethemayor.com and when I go to my permissions page on my 4sq account I literally have about 30 bethemayor.com permissions listed.
Should it be like this?
Yeah, unfortunately that's how it works on Foursquare's end. There's no way we can re-use an authorization, like Twitter does. So the entries you're seeing just add up. There's no harm in it, but it is annoying.
