“The magic age is people born after 1981,” said Sam Altman in a New York Times article. “That’s the cut-off for us where we see a big change in privacy settings and user acceptance.”
- _bq. p. i’ve always said that the dividing line between internet natives and their elder generations is whether or not you had sex or the internet first.

People born after 1981 have lower privacy standards

but what about sex ON the internet?

The comment about the dividing line being “whether you had sex or the internet first” is brilliant. I’m not about to take a poll, but I think it explains a lot. My younger brother (by 5 years) often says that he considers it “weird” that mom and dad remember a time before the internet. When I remind him that I too remember a time before the internet, he calls me old.

I agree this is brilliant, and this is totally TMI, but I am 38, lost my virginity at a normal time and was on the internet before that (via ARPANET , then UUNET , then THE WORLD) ). Just barely. By a year or so, tops.

Ugh. That is depressing.
