A while ago I was playing around with hair simulation for an idea. I poked at on and off for a few months, and rather than letting it linger in obscurity, where something like that should, I’ve packaged it up as a Mac desktop app for you to try out. You can download it here.

Now you, too, can hair-ify images. Line art and black & white images work much better than photos.

It’s not production ready, it’s just a toy. And it might not work at all. But if it does you can open images up and make them hairy, and save those images out. You can tweak the hair length and density.
